I decided to become a full-time agent when my University mate Lilian told me: Just get certified first, and you will get to meet people. it’s fun! What a reason, haha. But fast forward 30 years, it is one of the best decisions I have made.
When I realized what insurance is all about, I told myself - I want to be a sought-after agent and not one that people will run away from. I will change the way people look at insurance planning for themselves. Financial planning is not just an Art or a Science nor is it Dollars and Cents. There is simply so much emotions behind it to construct a truly responsible plan.
I am a strong advocate of comprehensive estate planning. The market place is filled with fragmented financial plans with no strategy nor suitably applied solutions. The mission to protect is very strong in my blood. My conviction to educate families to protect themselves adequately so that their plans could withstand any financial storms, is what keeps me going.
A good financial plan starts at home. When a family does it right, it positively impacts all the members within the nucleus and even the extended family. Most people buy anything their friends or the banks recommended and end up having ill-fitted, piece-meal solutions. Planning RIGHT from the start gives you that 100% peace of mind. Regular re-visiting to your plan is also essential to ensure the good health of it.
I enjoy it most when I can help each client holistically over the years, completing their dreams to financial freedom.
At Alliance, I am very proud to say we have an extremely well-organised database that allows every FP to pull out information anytime for things to run smoothly. Some of my clients actually rely on me when they want their medical records :D

Most of my clients are families and business owners. Many of them are friendships that I built since school days and they knew me even before I joined the business. Today I work mainly with people who are referred to me as we are already aligned in our mission and they appreciate the way I work. They know that I am not a fly by night nor product peddling advisor.
I love to work with the business owners and entrepreneurs as they have “the sky’s the limit” mentality. Most of them are Positive. Resilient. Visionary and we always talk about growth and business potential.
They could spin off new ideas to face challenges and overcome difficulties. These are all unique experiences that you see in real businesses and not in books or sales theory. And that invigorates me.

What I am passionate about
I am passionate about life and the pursuit of knowledge. To me, life is great and we only have one life. I choose to live intentionally because YOYO (You are On Your Own) and YOLO (You Only Live Once). Love God, love people and give your best in all that you do.
I started this beautiful insurance business in the late 80s and it allowed me to live my life dreams quickly such as paying off my PSC school loan, provided regular monthly allowance for my parents, bought my first house and renovated it, got married with a decent honeymoon, bought my first car when I got my driving license…If I were to stay in that brief stint of an admin job, I will probably still be single today. 😊
My greatest loves are reading and swimming. Reading is my First love. Words are powerful and they inspire me daily. I just pray that I will have a good pair of eyes to last.
Swimming is my Other love. A dip in the pool is always liberating for me. It refreshes me and takes away all my daily stresses and pressures!
I love music and songs. If God give me a good voice, I will be a singer! I love both English and Chinese songs, oldies, pop country, love songs, hymns. One of my favourite singers is Anne Murray - Nobody loves me like you do. Hmm. Oh. YELLOW POLKA DOT BIKINI. Lol.
The most boliao thing I like to do is to press bubbles on those protective plastic covers, the kind you get when you buy a TV set. It goes piak piak and it’s extremely satisfying.
Other boliao thing I do is playing Jewel Blitz on my phone. Breaking the record helps me relieve the occasional stress. Very boliao but simply enjoyable.
I love going to work and see my colleagues. Alliance is the ONLY inter-generational organisation in AXA. Our team has the young advisers in their 20, 30, 40 and the veterans in the 50’s. Most of our FPs are with us for at least 5 years. I’m very proud and blessed to be here.
My workplace buddies includes Lilian (the university mate, yes) - our adventures started in the 90s, singing well into the night. Joyce, my forever lovely disciple, enigmatic and is full of surprises. And, Pling (short for Pei Ling) is my sweetest, kindest, most helpful evening office and convention companion.
Alison is a very upbeat and cheerful person. She’s cheerful, funny and patient. She is someone with a personality that you will enjoy talking to and hanging out with her if you have time after your insurance consult! She is well-networked – even if something’s not under her portfolio, she gets you someone you can trust, who does. Alison shows up, fully. She is one of the rare agents who did not dabble here and there but solely on insurance which I appreciate. It shows a genuine dedication to the craft. Being intelligent and focused, I would say she displays a lot of empathy and she has a kind heart. All the ingredients I would like, as my FP.

Once again Congratulations and you deserve a place in AXA Signature. I can recall vividly the first time I met you at my sister Jenny Pang’s home at Bukit Batok in the night. Jenny’s husband Chua had a massive stroke in July 2015 and is now in a nursing home, in a vegetative state with no hope of recovery. Chua had bought 3 AXA policies from another agent many years ago. You were sent to meet us to help sort out the 3 policies as we contacted AXA.
You were helpful, assuring and clear in your explanations and genuine in following up with our many questions. It was a very painful and distraught time for Jenny and our family. Thank you for the care and sincere help you have given to Jenny. Jenny Chua do not have any children. You have given so much of your precious time in the night which is meant for your own family. All 3 policies had been settled and already paid to CPF as Chua bought with CPF funds. It helped Jenny to pay his monthly nursing home full care around $5000.00!
Recently you have given your precious time to spent with my daughter Dr. Josephine Lo to settle issues and frustrations left behind by your ex AXA agent who was recommended by me to my daughter.
